Energy Gift Program

Helping others is easy!

• Energy Gift is a thoughtful and practical way to help a friend or family member in need of assistance.
• It lets you help someone with a payment made toward their KCP&L bill, anonymously or not.
• Anyone can purchase an Energy Gift for one of our customers. You do not have to be a KCP&L customer yourself.

Just complete and submit the online information form (see button below). We will then verify the customer's account information and send you an Energy Gift form and announcement card. Once received, please complete and mail the form to KCP&L, along with a check or money order in the amount of your choice. We will apply the gift payment to the designated customer’s account. The announcement card is yours to send to the recipient or you may give anonymously.

Dollar-Aide Program

For over 25 years, Dollar-Aide has helped thousands of families pay their heating, cooling and water bills during financially pressing times to avoid loss of service.

Donations from people like you fund this important program. KCP&L matches every $1 donated with a 50¢ energy credit.

We offer two convenient ways to participate.

To be eligible for this program, customers must meet income guidelines. Funds are administered by the Mid-America Assistance Coalition and the United Way of Greater St. Joseph. All contributions are tax deductible.

Do you need energy assistance yourself? United Way 2-1-1 assists customers with securing funds from the many agencies they work with to help eligible customers pay their energy bills. Call the number below to find out if you are eligible to receive funds to help with your fuel bill, weatherization, etc.
